What the terms mean:

Anti-Oxidant -helps prevent deterioration and rancidity in products, also slows the activity of damaging “free radicals”

Antiseptic -inhibits the growth and reproduction of disease-causing organisms.

Antibacterial -inhibits the growth of bacteria.

Antimicrobial -inhibits the growth of bacteria and viruses.

Certified Organic -organic means an ingredient has been grown without synthetic herbicides, fertilizers and pesticides. Certified Organic is a legal term, which means, the grower has met the requirements of a certifying agency, has complied with strict rules and has had fields periodically inspected to be sure they continue to be in compliance.

Emollient -softens and soothes skin.

Emulsifier -helps oil and water ingredients blend together without separating.

Hydrating -helps restore or add water

Humectant -helps retain moisture, and helps draw moisture from the environment

Surfactant -helps clean by reducing the surface tension of liquids, and is attracted to both oil and water.

Preservative -used to keep products safe to use, by preventing deterioration and rancidity, and inhibiting the growth and reproduction of bacteria and viruses.

Wild-crafted -means an ingredient has been sustainably gathered growing wild, and has not been treated with fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides.

Alcohol SDA 35A - A plant-derived, high-grade cosmetic alcohol that evaporates almost instantly. Used only in Exhilarating Body Mist.

Calendula (Wildcrafted) - “Golden Marigold” - has strong natural antiseptic and antibacterial properties, soothes skin and helps minimize fine lines.

Cellulose - plant matter used as a thickener, also helps suspend oil and water formulations.

Cetearyl Alcohol - a plant-derived emollient and emulsifier.

Cetyl Alcohol - a plant-derived emollient and emulsifier.

Chlorphenesin - a preservative that prevents the growth of mold, yeast, bacteria and fungus.

Citric Acid - a citrus-fruit derived natural pH adjuster and preservative.

Cocamidopropyl Betaine - an extremely gentle coconut oil-based cleansing agent.

Comfrey Extract (Certified Organic) - plant-derived and traditionally known to help soothe skin and heal skin irritations.

Dead Sea Salts - gathered from the Dead Sea in Israel and contains Potassium, Chlorine, Sodium, Calcium, Magnesium, Sulfur and Bromine compounds - revives and tones.

DL Panthenol - long lasting plant-derived moisturizer that leaves hair and skin feeling silkier.

Epsom Salts - relieves pain and pulls toxins from the body. Traditionally used to release muscle soreness.

Essential Oils - “soul of the plant”, can be expressed from leaves, roots, seeds, fruits or flowers.

Microcrystalline Cellulose - plant-derived natural stabilizer and thickener.

Phenoxyethanol - is an aromatic ether alcohol used as a preservative

Potassium Iodide - a natural salt-derived thickener.
